Festival of colours in Mers-les-Bains

I love to come to Mers-les-Bains, a festive little town in the Somme department of the Picardie region in France. It is funny that just across the bridge there is Le Treport – another town on the north of France belonging to another region – The Haute Normandie.

The town is famous for the colourful facades of the building on the main street, facing the sea and a beach. Locals also loves to spend the time on its pebble beach.

If you have some time I advise you to take stairs and climb uphill to the statue of Our Lady. At daytime you may see all the ships in the sea and the commune which consists of three towns: Eu, Le Treport and Mers-les-Bains. Night view is also breathtaking thanks to the lights highlighting the cliffs, the promenade and a church in Le Treport.

When you are in the town take a time to read the names of villas and enjoy the nice decoration of the walls. Each of them is a masterpiece!
