Luxembourg in blossom
Days are longer and warmer, we see more and more blue sky above our heads and office windows show not grey but sunny green landscape so it is impossible to be concentrated on investment funds and distribution policies. Spring has arrived, officially, to Luxembourg. Violet heads of crocuses are the very first sign of spring here.
1.Parks and lawns are covered with crocuses of all colours even when the wind is still unfriendly and tries to freeze you to the death.
2.Although these little fellows come to the surface and give us the hope that, probably, the next week we may remove gloves, scarfs and winter coats.
5.Couple weeks later trees start awaking from the winter dormancy. First insecure flowers show themselves in shy and tender manner like they taste the environment and want to be sure that indeed, it is time.
6.With every day and every sun ray blossom becomes more and more powerful.
8.Until it shows its beauty on the maximum.
10.Now everything blossoms: cherry trees, plum and apple trees, wild plums and apricot trees.
14.City, but no, not only the city, the country, is covered by this tender pinky cloud.
17.Even the sky turns pinky these days.
21.Mosel valley follows the city. Long promenade in Remich and the river banks on Luxembourg, German and French sides are covered with white and pink.
23. I can understand Japanese who arrange their marriages during Sakura blossom season.
25.On Sundays you may see Luxembourgers occupying parks and green areas. Soon there will be yoga and pilates open-air classes, baby gym, barbecue lovers in every park.
27.The last tree which wakes up in the spring is Magnolia. It looks like it waits until other trees starts blossoming to open its tender candle-like flowers.
This is how we welcome spring in Luxembourg. Is it the same consequence in your country?
